KANT INSTITUTE in IMMANUELKANTSTATEUNIVERSITY

The main aim of work is organization of systematic researches in I.Kant’s philosophy cultural aspects and using of developments in educational programs in cultural enlightenment activity. The Institute formulates the tasks in such a way:

• Systematic research of I.Kant’s philosophy.
• Translation and editorship of Kant’s texts
• Investigation of cultural aspects in Kant’s philosophy with a priority on the age of Enlightenment
• Elaboration and updating innovative educational programs in the sphere of philosophy and Enlightenment culture
• Publication  of Kant’s collection as a central organ of Kant investigations
• Creation of  information base of Kant’s philosophy in Russia

The main content of activity is investigations in the sphere of Kant’s philosophy contemporary meaning, it’s perception in different cultures, perspectives of using ideas of Kant’s philosophy in the solution of contemporary global social problems, analysis of Kant’s argumentation in his works.

During 2008-2010 The Institute is planning his work in two directions: the first is investigation of Kant’s philosophy in the intercultural context and the second is deep analysis of Kant’s ANTHROPOLOGY. Also The Institute will start publishing of the unique edition – “Kant’s collection”. This magazine is proposed to become a central organ of Kant studying. In this period of time The Institute will try to create an information base of Kant’s philosophy in Russia.

The special project of The Institute is creation an Internet portal - “Kant on-line”. There will be presented Kant’s biography, the fundamental aspects of his philosophy and its main interpretations. The Institute will elaborate distant courses of Kant’s philosophy for Russian and foreign students

In April of 2009 on the base of Kant Institute will be hold X Kant’s Readings “Classical reason and the challenges of present: the Kantian perspective”.
